报告摘要:In the phase-field description of moving contact line problems, thetwo-phase system can be described by free energies, and the constitutiverelations can be derived based on the assumption of energy dissipation. Inpractice, due to defects on the solid surface, the advancing and recedingcontact angles may differ, which is known as the contact angle hysteresis. Wepropose a novel boundary condition for contact-angle hysteresis by manipulatingthe wall energy. Our method identifies pinning, advancing, and recedingconditions automatically, without the explicit knowledge of contact-linevelocity or contact angle. More importantly, the formulation still satisfies adissipative energy law. The same idea can be easily extended to other numericalmethods, as long as the generalized Navier boundary condition is used forcontact line motion. We will providesome recent results on contact angle hysteresis from both a phase-field methodand a level-set method. Numerical results, including code validations and 3Dsimulations of sliding drops on an inclined wall, will be presented.
报告人简介:岳朋涛,弗吉尼亚理工大学副教授、博士生导师。他于1997年在中国科学技术大学获得理论与应用力学学士学位,2002年在中国科学技术大学获得流体力学博士学位。毕业后,他先后在纽约城市大学和英属哥伦比亚大学从事博士后研究。他在2008年获得弗吉尼亚理工大学助理教授职位并于2014年提升至副教授。岳朋涛教授的工作包括相场方法、任意拉格朗日欧拉方法、level set方法、以及它们在界面流动、移动接触线、复杂流体等物理问题中的应用。
